How a boxing legend sparked a boxing-inspired fitness revolution
Joe DeNucci: “The People’s Champion”
Joe was a professional middleweight boxer, born & raised in Newton, MA. Aside from his outstanding career and status as the record-holder for the most bouts in the historic Boston Garden (23), Joe also held a position as the longest-serving auditor for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Joe passed down his wisdom to the founders of BOXYGEN, and it is here that his legacy and passion for the sport of boxing live on.
THE FIGHTER’S WILL
The BOXYGEN program is built on the “Fighter’s Will” philosophy, a notion that transcends physical fitness and applies to all aspects of a person’s life, from approaching the simplest of tasks, to conquering difficulties. The “Fighter’s Will” is premised on the fundamental principles that guide competitive boxers: discipline, perseverance, and respect.
All BOXYGEN trainers encourage participants to strive to maximize their potential, while learning and maintaining proper form and technique.
Our gyms: born from inspiration; fueled by our philosophy
Eleven years ago, the Busa family opened up their first boxing gym, Nonantum Boxing Club (NBC), located in Newton, MA – Joe’s hometown.
NBC offers the trademark BOXYGEN fitness classes and over the years, NBC has grown, gaining dedicated followers and participants.
The BOXYGEN program is also offered in a number of Boston Sports Club locations, located throughout the greater Boston area.
